Three New Police Officers Sworn In To Office By The Mayor

Meet the newest officers of the East Haven Police Department.

Gregory Borer, Sue-Ellen Consolati, and Nicole Burrell made a little bit of East Haven history July 30 as they were sworn in as the newest officers on the police force.

But first, they must successfully pass a six and a half month training course.

Mayor Joseph Maturo, Jr. did the honors, telling each of the 20-something future officers to "treat our residents fairly, listen to the chief, obey all laws and most of all, stay safe."

The newest EHPD officers are:

Gregory Borer - He grew up in Milford and graduated from SCSU with a degree in sociology.  He's already a veteran of the US Air Force, having joined in October of 2011 working as a jet engine mechanic. He's now in the reserves.  Becoming a police officer was a natural choice for Borer as his twin brother is a police officer in New Haven.

Sue-Ellen Consolati - She grew up in Canton, Massachusetts and is proud of her cousin who is a lieutenant in the Milton, MA police department. She graduated from the University of New Haven with a degree in Criminal Justice. Her interests are in fire investigation, arson, and one-on-one combat training.

Nicole Burrell - She's a self-professed exercise fanatic who loves to work out and stay active. She graduated from CCSU with a BS in Physical Education. She's a Dallas football fan and recently received her personal training certificate.

All three are looking forward to their training which takes place in Milford, and getting to know the people and streets of East Haven.
