Just tell the truth

Last month I wrote that the time has come where we will be inundated with views from those opposing or backing the current administration.  Those opposing will tell you of cronyism, jobs going to friends, favoritism in appointments, all the nice things associated in an election year.  There will be those telling the readers that the administration is corrupt, and will bring up that off the cuff comment made and the failure to keep a political promise of a tax roll back, and yes of the PD issues.   Fine, this is what we get in a society such as ours, commonly referred to as freedom of speech and expression.

There will be those commenting about the association of political donors and appointments to boards & commissions and try to put this in a bad light to the readers. I must remind the readers that this is life in the political world. Promises are made that can't be kept for one reason or another.  From municipal elections all the way up to POTUS, positions within ones administration are given to those that help one get elected. Yes folks, even the last administration did it.   But the writers conveniently forget that fact.

Fine, I don't have a problem with people expressing their views one way of the other   What I do have a concern with is the false and inaccurate information being presented as a truth or fact.  To the futue Patch writers, just tell what is known to be fact.  Don't make things up for political gain.  Don't use innuendoes, hearsay or what is believed to be a fact.  If you portray something about a candidate be able to back it up with facts.  People aren't stupid and can see right through you and see the true meaning and reason for your comments.

Small town politics is all about one thing. A budget that doesn't raise taxes and how that money is spent. Forget the political rhetic, read thru what is being writen.
