In Woodbury it is the stress of the property values decreasing and the ever increasing of taxes.Read More People can not afford their taxes now. This years shell game, the First Selectman and the BOF Chair want everyone to believe that only 40% of the taxpayers taxes are going up. 40% increase in stress in those people's lives. Don't worry though the First Selectman and the BOF Chair have stated that no ones taxes are going up. ??? It's called talking out of both sides of your mouth. Tell the voters whatever they want to hear to get the budget passed. The voters have another chance to VOTE DOWN the proposed budget on the 23rd. Remember VOTE YES FOR HIGHER TAXES.

Hi everyone here. What Christine Coleman said is very true though i may not know her. I experiencedRead More it first hand also. It was this organization called consumer loan firm (C.L.f)that really helped me to pay my medical bills when i was in dare need of money because i am a widow. A friend of my also directed me to them. when i was about to do a major operation and i had no money at that time, they came to my rescue and in less than 48 hours, i got my loan. But to say the truth, i was nervous and scared at first because i have been scammed twice. But when i summoned up courage and follow their lending policies along with my friends advice, at the end i found myself smiling. If not for them, maybe i would have been dead by now. I have even taken another loan from them start my business after my recovery which i am also paying back now. My only advice now is that any body who is really in need of loan should contact them with their email via: consumerloanfirm@gmail.com and get a loan from them. Thanks

My experience is not anecdotal, that is usually a one time situation. My experience spans 25 years,Read More in different industries, and being part of hiring thousands of people at all different job levels. I am sure there are companies who have discriminated but they are few and far between. With all the women in HR positions all over this country, if this was news, it would have been made news long ago. Plus, people are litigious and companies are not going to risk that. In addition, since I have been privy to employee lawsuits, I never saw ONE that had to do with pay disparity with men. Sometimes they had to do with sexual harrassment, however the biggest number, according to statistics, is retaliation for being on leave, and that has nothing to do with gender.

Paula says "oil loving greedy corportions get taxpayer -funded welfare. " ha. These areRead More the companies paying the most in taxes: 1. ExxonMobil • Income tax expense: $31.05 billion • Earnings before taxes: $78.73 billion 2. Chevron • Income tax expense: $20.00 billion • Earnings before taxes: $46.33 billion 3. Apple • Income tax expense: $14.21 billion • Earnings before taxes: $55.96 billion 4. Wells Fargo • Income tax expense: $9.10 billion • Earnings before taxes: $28.47 billion 5. Wal-Mart • Income tax expense: $7.98 billion • Earnings before taxes: $25.74 billion ================================= So Paula youre first statement is pretty far off mark. They are not getting our money, we are getting theirs. Exxon pays 39%income tax, chevron 43%. What's your tax rate? How much money would you estimate of your income taxes goes to a company that pays 31 billion? haha. ============================== As a Vietnam war vet, Republicans started the Iraq war. Dead soliders = 4500. Total dead = about 210,000. Vietnam a Dem war was 58,000 US soldiers dead 3 million total dead. Korean WarDEM, WW2DEM, WW1 DEM Total of those Dems war about 600,000 US soldiers and 4500 under REpubicans. Hmm you sure you want to call Republicans the war mongers. After 1 war and about 1/150th the casualties of Dem war mongering? Did you say a peep as all of that occured? Or are you sold by the Dem spin machine that makes everything completely different than what it really is. Oil companies that get like 600 mil 'back' after paying 90 billion in taxes ---net taxes 89,400,000,000 but the Dems focus on the 600 mio . what a joke. 43% tax rate and it goes to 41.8 and you call it welfare. ================ I included the 5 highest taxpayers. They include the evil oil company, the evil bank and the evil walmart. All those evil companies that pay tons but are described by the 'daily kos' of the world as not paying their fair share.

IRead More also believe if you look at the airport on google earth, they can fit another RSA after they pave the existing one on the southern end. And yes the MOA is flawed, but correcting it is not needed. The FAA has already told Tweed that they can not honor it because they would in violation of a number of grants. @Igor: I hear what you're saying and I almost - almost! - share your "gay pride" fatigue.Read More Now, I don't know if you remember Watergate - I barely do - but most casual news-watchers/readers then were totally fed up with hearing about it. That particular crime didn't reduce their adjusted gross incomes or otherwise affect them individually - but to suffer through all this tedious televised testimony that even Walker Cronkite couldn't summarize in 15 seconds - plus those congressional testimonies that were so stupefyingly boring (not like the Viet Nam news footage which got otherwise would-be protesters off their asses) - and, to boot! Well, as it turned out - all that "in your face" bullshit was - surprise again, right-wingers! - actually democracy working the way it was supposed to work. So, what's my point, Igor? @Paul Improta. Well, where to begin? Your post was certainly wide-ranging, and I thank you for notRead More resorting to insults, or worse: caps-lock. Your post also showed how unenlightened and worse, indifferent, you are to the human condition. You confidently opine on the legitimacy of love between lovers who are of the same sex, but what do you know? Certainly nothing from acquaintance; that’s plain. If you had seen what I’ve seen, and known whom I’ve known, you’d be ashamed of yourself for uttering such nonsense as, “Where heterosexuals sex lives are an expression of relationship, gay relationships are an expression of their sexual preferences.” You have absolutely no basis for that assertion but your own prejudice and presuppositions. That’s merely ignorance. What would be stupid, though, is for you to refuse to question those falsehoods. If, however, you should choose to remain willfully ignorant… well, I pity you, because whilst a kiss will remain a kiss, lovers will woo, and time goes by, your appreciation of the futility of your struggle against reality will come too late for you. And to that point: I won’t even address the “militarist agenda” nonsense you spout because it’s obviously your expression of sour grapes, whether you realize that yet or never will. No benefit in disputing a factual point that’s been won already.

Like many things in this Obama administration, the idea of doing nothing appeals . Then they blameRead More Congress and or Bush. We've seen it on the border, we see it in Ukraine, in Israel, In Iran, in Syria, and for many doing nothing is great. On some level I prefer to do nothing in many of these situations, but doing nothing has it's own set of consequences. Bush did too much. Obama does too little. One annoying difference is that Bush took the heat, while Obama blames eveyone else or pretends that the situations are all republican fake scandals. The border crisis they will try to point out as a law Bush signed in 2008. And they are right, but certainly doesnt tell the whole story as 3,000 kids came over on average in first 4 years of law. Obama granted amnesty (GOP said huge mistake while dems laughed at that notion as being a magnet-- gop was right) and now we see 30,000, 75,000 and projected 150,000 next year. Crisis now requires billions also someting that dems always say "doesnt cost us" . Now they are employing age old tactic of if you dont welcome this situation you are heartless. Odd--the ones taking care of the kids are the churches that the left mocks and ridiculues.
