Located on the outskirts of downtown, the Town Green offers a place to relax, host community events and honor locals who were killed in war. There are monuments and a canon dedicated to those who perished in the Civil War, the Revolutionary War and World War II. Every August, the St. Vincent de Paul four-day festival is held on the Green, as is an annual senior day. Of particular note is a plaque in front of a century-old oak tree that reads: "Site of the Theodore Roosevelt Oak Given by the President of the United States to the Town of East Haven on May 1, 1908."
