Find a Friend for Life at the Pet Adoption event sponsored by the Friends of New Haven Animal Shelter and the North Shore Animal League. It takes place from 11am to 3pm at Pet Supplies Plus, 471 Boston Post Road in Orange.
It's the 13th Annual Fireworks and Beach Party in East Haven. It begins at noon and ends around 9pm at Cosey Beach, 161 Cosey Avenue. A Neil Diamond tribute band will play live.
Sunday, June 30
It's the 3rd Annual Poker Run in honor of Antoinette Venditti Bruce starting at 10am at the TCB Bar and Billiards in North Haven and ending at Allegra's Cafe in Branford. There will be stops along the way in North Haven, Durham and East Haven. Part of the proceeds go to the Woman Victims for Self Defense fund. There will be 50/50 raffles, door prizes, music and food. Cash bar.
The Robert "Danny" Hoff Food Drive will take place to benefit the East Haven Food Pantry. It starts at 10am and runs until 2pm at T&J Supermarket.
