Week Ahead in East Haven: Silent Auction, Free Concert, Movies

Monday, Sept. 23

The town's Economic Development Commission meets at 7pm at Town Hall. 

Tuesday, September 24
The Board of Education meets at 7pm at the high school. 

The Police Commission meets at 7pm at the Senior Center.

Wednesday, September 25
Mother Goose on the Loose at the Hagaman Library, 10:30am. This free event offers non-stop fun for babies, toddlers and their caregivers. Join them for an award-winning program created by child development expert Betsy Diamant-Cohen. Registration is not required - drop in! For more information call 203-468-3890. 

Historian and author Maury Klein will talk about his new book, A Call To Arms, the story of the enormous mobilization effort that created the American arsenal of World War II.  Mr. Klein will speak at the WWII Veterans Discussion Group at 2 p.m. at the Hagaman Library. This event is free and all are welcome.

Do you have questions about the up-coming new health insurance coverage? Then attend a free informational session at the Hagaman Library from 5:30pm to 7pm. George Watts, benefits advisor of The Health Consultants Group, will explain the ins and outs of the new health care reform law. Thursday, September 26

Join others for a fun "Tales & Tunes" program at 10:30am at the Hagaman Library. There will be plenty of favorite interactive songs and exciting new books for children ages 3-5.  Feel free to drop-in, no registration is required.

Free movie! Want to see Dinotopia: Quest for the Ruby Sunstone?  This animated film based on the Dinotopia series will screen at 4pm at the Hagaman Library. Free refreshments. This event is great for kids of all ages.

Internationally acclaimed pianist Thomas Pandolfi will perform a free concert of pieces by such artists as Mozart, Debussy, Verdi and others at the Hagaman Library at 7pm.  Free and open to everyone. Saturday, September 28
St. Clare is holding a silent auction at 6:30pm, 234 Coe Avenue, at the Parish Hall. There will be an appetizer buffet, a DJ, silent auction, raffles and more. The cost is $15 per person. Tickets are available by calling the Parish office at 203-467-5136 x301.
