Week Ahead in East Haven: Primary And Clean Up Day

Here's a quick look into some events and happenings this week, Sept. 9-14 in East Haven.


Tuesday, Sept. 10 

The Democratic Primary for Mayoral Candidates, between Jack Stacey and Gary DePalma, will be held from 6am to 8pm in all voting districts.  Results of the primary will be announced on Patch that evening after the tally has been completed at town hall. For more details, click here

There's a AAA retirement workshop at the Hagaman Library, 2pm. 

The town's Board of Education meets tonight at the East Haven High School at 7pm. 

Wednesday, Sept. 11
There's a Ziti dinner and Cub & Boy Scouts registration event at 6pm at the Old Stone  Church. 

The town's Inland Wetlands Commission meets at 7pm at the Senior Center.

Thursday, Sept. 12
In case you missed Tuesday's meeting, there's another AAA retirement workshop at the Hagaman Library, 2pm. 

The Lenihan School of Irish Dance will be holding a free open house for new students from 4pm-5pm at the Irish American Community Center, 9 Venice Place, East Haven.  Meet the teachers and experience the fun Irish dance has to offer! Please email lenihanschool@hotmail.com for more information.

Film Night at Hagaman Library! Visit the Hagaman Library at 5pm and enjoy pizza, drinks and a showing of A Bridge Too Far starring Sean Connery, Ryan ONeal, and Michael Caine. An historic telling of the failed attempt to capture several bridges on a road to Germany in World War II, in a campaign called Operation Market-Garden. Hagaman Library's film series events are free and open to everyone. Saturday, Sept. 14
Join the "Clean Up East Haven" group at 9am for their September clean up event. They will be targeting the Willow and Grannis Street area. Look for their check-in area in the parking lot behind T&J IGA to sign in and receive a volunteer tee-shirt. Sponsors are Law Offices of Karen DeMartino, Mayor Joe Maturo, Goody's Hardware, A&G Cleaning Agents, CT Irrigation, and Big Prints.
