'DeLauro Dodge Ball'

Wayne Winsley, Candidate for U.S. Congress CT Third District

NAUGATUCK, CONN – August 3: Wayne Winsley, committed candidate to represent all of the citizens of CT’s 3rd Congressional District, today released the following statement regarding Incumbent Rosa DeLauro.

“Fellow citizens, Incumbent DeLauro will soon depart Congress, leaving a legacy of failed representation.

Her original story of narrow self-interest, and her sequel story of insider special interest groups, is why the personal story for so many citizens in the 3rd Congressional District is a personal story of dealing with ongoing economic struggles.

For so many of our fellow citizens, their personal struggles are due to:

  • No Jobs...
  • No Money...
  • No Food... for their Families.

For all those people, the problem is DeLauro - her intransigence, her ineffectiveness, and her incumbency.

For so many of our fellow citizens, their lives are full of Stress and Anxiety struggling to:

  • Pay the Rent...
  • Prevent Foreclosure...
  • Prevent Car Repossession...
  • Paying Stifling Taxes.

For all of our citizens, the bottom line is this: ‘If DeLauro remains in office… all the problems will remain… due to her failures, her intransigence, her ineffectiveness, and her incumbency.

It’s time for DeLauro to go. It’s time for all of our fellow citizens… to be able to get back to work... to be able to get out of debt... and be able to enjoy their life, personal liberty, and happiness with their family.

The insider ‘DeLauro Dodge Ball’ game is nearing its end.  Picking the people’s pockets will soon end too.  As your next representative, I - Wayne Winsley - will serve the citizens of the Third Congressional with forthrightness, honor, and integrity.

I completely disagree. Ross has done a lot for the third congressional district. I wish you all the best in your campaign but I will be supporting Rosa.

John Lauro commented via Facebook: "I have to disagree Wayne. Check her voting record in congress and you can see where she stands and that she's with us."
John R. McCommas August 5, 2012 at 11:25 pm
She is a Communist.

Rosa's a liberal dingbat but the people love her. She's going to be in that office as long as she wants it. You haven't got a shot Wayne.
Maria Nilson August 6, 2012 at 09:44 am
Rosa is a big liberal momma, who gives our tax dollars away as fast as she can, that's why they love her. She should be stopped from her runaway spending! Connecticut can't afford her decision making in congress any longer. Good luck Winsley!
Wayne Winsley August 6, 2012 at 04:11 pm

Out with Rosa - Pelosi's clone, we can not afford their spending of our money! She has done more to give benefits for which they have paid nothing into, and jobs to illegals than the Americans she is being paid to represent. She is a disgrace. It is our responsibility to help those less fortunate not for her and Pelosi to take our money and redistribute it for us. Sick of this lack of realization of their destruction of the American family. Love how she supports Obamacare, but not enough for her and her cronies to have this as their healthcare.

One thing that never gets mentioned is the sudden rise of Rosa DeLauros fortune. She went from being one of Chris Dodds aides to being in the top 10% of wealthiest members of the House of Representaives, worth over 16 million dollars. How did she do that on a congressional salary ?Her husband,Stanley Greenburg runs a polling company. If she is that much of a financial whiz, she should work on the budget and not keep finding new things to tax and regulate.

Wayne is absolutely correct about DeLauro's failures and her playing "Dodge ball"!
She never faces her constituents by holding Town Hall meetings, because she up to now has not had to, with people just blindly voting for her, the (D) without realizing that she wants a "Cradle to Grave Nanny State," rather than free enterprise and opportunity for Prosperity for all! DeLauro even recently told formerly docile seniors, now concerned about the rampant DEBT she has voted for and the looming bankruptcy of Social Security that it will "never be insolvent." She is totally clueless about how the BIG government favoring congress is pushing our nation toward "Financial Armageddon"!! Career politician DeLauro does not care as long as she keeps her 'power' over the people!!! She is despicable, imo. Winsley, on the other hand, is a very articulate, intelligent and patriotic Navy vet and a man of sterling INTEGRITY, and will genuinely listen to and "serve" his constituents! Wayne Winsley is my very favorite candidate for congress from CT! Please meet him Thursday in East Haven, or watch him in the below, spread the word and help him replace DeLauro with contributions, by volunteering, and introducing him to your networks. Here are a couple of his videos: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OXh9dAcmTag http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XkhSR1qzxSY
Lou August 9, 2012 at 12:48 pm
I believe and don't quote me, but her campaign contributions are used to pay the polling company.

Washington DC is totally disfunctional, we all know it. But the same old faces keep going back. We complain all day long about "we the people" being ignored by who we send to DC, but they keep returning. Just look at the health care bill. Pelosi tells us that it must be voted in so they can see whats in the bill. OH ya, thats a way to pass a bill.
The only way hopefully changes can be made is by removing the "professional politician". New faces with term limits. I recently ask Mr. Winsley this question: Do you believe in term limits? His answer was yes. He said he believes in no more then 2 terms for both the Senate & House. The likes of Pelosi, Reid, Rosa, and now Dickie have to go. The extreme left is destroying this country and is being controlled by BHO.
MAC August 11, 2012 at 08:04 pm
Incompetent and self-interested "representatives" like DeLauro are destroying our nation and need to go!
When the Senate has not passed a BUDGET in almost 4 yrs., their most BASIC responsibility, Americans can see how dysfunctional the DEM leadership is, and why it must be ended in all branches! Wayne Winsley is the perfect replacement for DeLauro, who was elected with no qualifications except being an aide to Chris Dudd for years. Wayne is a navy vet and NOT a politician, which puts him head and shoulders above Rosa in qualifications to SERVE the "People"!!! If you have not met Wayne, I encourage you to meet him at the Hamden Senior center next Wednesday Aug. 15th @ 7pm or the Guilford community center on Aug. 18th @ 7pm. ********** I love this from Wayne on Mon. at "We Built this Mr. Pres." rally in Stamford: "Wayne Winsley We Built That - Obama's Exit Sign To The Future" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DI4rF7RlgvE (2 min.) Please watch and SHARE with friends, even outside CT, and get all the help we can (Donations, volunteer, and spread the word) to help elect Winsley to replace the incompetent career politician DeLauro!!

Cronyism is the substitution of political influence for free markets. By shifting power to government, cronyism makes political power more important and increases the competition for that political power via campaign contributions. The way to reduce or end cronyism is to reduce or end that government power. And the way to end that power is to replace self-serving crony politicians—like Rosa DeLauro.    What is Rosa DeLauro doing about the Federal debt—now equaling over $50,000 per US citizen and over $150,000 PER TAXPAYER? Unless voters get rid of spendaholics like DeLauro, our economy will remain stalled, and the jobless rate will remain unacceptably high. The path to end this waste—and to stop the creation of yet another generation of SNAP-dependent families—is less government. getting re-elected is DeLauro’s number one priority. Why? So she can continue to milk her office as a cash cow. During the recession, when most of us were LOSING money, her personal wealth GREW by over $2 MILLION per year:  http://www.conntact.com/government/11691-rosas-not-in-the-red.html  The self-dealing relationship with her husband, whereby campaign contributions ultimately end up in her own pocket, also helps:  http://www.humanevents.com/2011/10/04/delauro-campaign-finances-raise-questions/ But as long as DeLauro can continue to fool voters into believing that she “feels their pain” she’ll continue to be re-elected.

The unemployment rate went UP last month to 8.3%! Adding to the deficit to "reign in the economy” is the Keynesian economic theory, which DeLauro adheres to—and which does not work. She avidly supports increased federal borrowing—thereby increasing the national debt via deficit spending—to finance a supposed “jobs” package. This failed Keynesian theory holds that increased government spending, deficits and debt are what promote economic growth and recovery. Such failed policies are why DeLauro has voted to double the national debt in just four years. Not only has such foolish borrowing created an economic time-bomb, it also threatens our national security—since over 25% of our borrowing comes from China. When Moodys downgraded the US credit rating, China issued a warning that the US needs to get its financial affairs in order. Their next step easily could be to suddenly cut off our money supply. Then what? Economic meltdown? China doesn’t want that—but you can be sure they are planning political blackmail to keep the money flowing. DeLauro is simply too clueless and self-absorbed to be aware of this danger. Wayne Winsley, on the other hand, as a former naval officer, instinctively understands the security threat created by foolish career-politicians like Rosa DeLauro.

Rosa DeLauro—her net worth now exceeds $25 MILLION. Open a free account here http://www.legistorm.com/ and see for yourself what DeLauro is worth. Only significant difference between May 2012 disclosure and May 2011 disclosure: her husband’s “John Hancock Retirement-Lifecycle 2015” account is worth c. $1 Million less than it was the previous year. (Compare page 4 of each report.) That's because they CASHED IT OUT to make a lump-sum payoff of the $1Million mortgage on their posh New Haven residence (see 2012 disclosure). During the recession (which supposedly is over) when all of us were losing money, DeLauro's worth increased by c. $2 MILLION PER YEAR. Not bad for a politician who’s been running one of the biggest scams in D.C. for NEARLY 22 years. Of course, it’s easy for Rosa DeLauro to theorize about solving hunger & poverty issues as she sits in her $1 Million home in New Haven (well, when she isn’t eating gourmet meals from Schneider’s & Federal City Caterers http://www.iwatchnews.org/2010/10/05/2460/political-inaction-committees-how-political-action-committees-are-spending-your ).
Wayne Winsley is not “defending the wealthy 1%”. Wayne stands for a fluid society in which EVERYONE has the possibility of becoming successful—his own life speaks for itself. In contrast, here's the “food-stamp-world” that DeLauro seeks: http://www.urbancure.org/lifeofblackjulia/ Payed for with YOUR taxes.

Rosa DeLauro voted for the Affordable Care Act. Obviously, she forgot to mention that it's actually the NON-affordable NON-Care Act: http://www.nhregister.com/articles/2012/08/14/news/doc50295a371c61b500859818.txt Wayne Winsley says he “doesn’t want to shred the safety net—because he came to appreciate the need for it after relying on it himself…His life experiences—from a stint at a Boys Town as a kid, to a bout with prostate cancer while he was out of work—give him a different perspective on the social programs that often end up on his party’s chopping block…’ The difference between myself and probably any elected official … is that I have actually had to use the safety net,’ Winsley said. ‘For me, it is not a theory.’…’The point is not to burn the safety net,’ he said. The idea, he said, is to create an environment where it’s a stopgap—not a way of life… So, when it comes to talking about what to cut, Winsley’s keyword is ‘reasonable.’ Nothing should be sacred, he said—including defense spending—but the cuts that are made should be fair.” But a federal program should not be so expensive that it ultimately threatens the very existence of all safety-net programs: Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid.

Perhaps we should call her Rosa DeSpenda DeLauro: “November of 2011, the House voted on a balanced budget amendment to the Constitution. This particular amendment would have required a three-fifths roll call vote of each chamber for the congress to spend more than it took in and to increase the public debt limit… Rosa DeLauro voted against the spending cut.”…but, of course “Rosa DeLauro voted in favor of the debt increase.” At least she’s consistent: she ALWAYS votes AGAINST any cuts in spending, always votes FOR any INCREASES in spending. Much more here: http://www.thepoliticalguide.com/Profiles/House/Connecticut/Rosa_DeLauro/Views/Debt,_Deficit,_Spending,_and_the_Size_of_Government/ As long as Rosa DeLauro remains in office, our economy will continue to stall, the jobless rate will remain unacceptably high and safety-net programs like Social Security and Medicare will go bankrupt. How can DeLauro be an “objective representative” of anyone—except those campaign contributors who essentially own her? Until we fix the problem of this career politician—by getting rid of her—we will continue to have auctions instead of elections. The danger of keeping DeLauro in office is expanding the notion that our country’s standard of living is an entitlement—not an earned reward. DeLauro is a self-serving, bought and paid for careerist—whose every move is motivated only by the goal of re-election.
Christopher Schaefer August 19, 2012 at 07:20 pm
Obstructionist Rosa DeLauro voted AGAINST this: "Audit the Fed" which passed the House July 25 in a 327-98 vote. The demand to pierce the veil of secrecy surrounding the Fed was so massive that nearly HALF the Democrats in congress—but NOT DeLauro—voted to lift the curtain on Bernanke’s manipulations of our economy. Those who voted against this bill—e.g. DeLauro—did so to continue bailouts of the politically-connected, endless spending, and to continue devaluing our currency with debt. Those who voted against the measure to audit the Federal Reserve claimed the audit was a grope for more Congressional control. Thus, for the amusement of all, I present you a video of Dem. Senator Harry Reid—calling for an audit of the Federal Reserve in 1995: http://youtu.be/oXOsZ7Ad7dM (In 1995 Rosa DeLauro was only 5 years into learning the ropes about groping for self-enriching, crony political power in the House of Reps.)

According to the Congressional Budget Office, 18 million Americans received SNAP benefits in 2000. By 2011, this had nearly tripled to 45 million. Rosa DeLauro tells us that this program's growth is due to our foundering economy. Yet spending on this program increased 100 percent from 2001 to 2006—when there was no increase in the unemployment rate. 3/4ths of recipients are "categorically eligible," which means they automatically qualify by virtue of participating in some other welfare program.
At one time, recipients received their food-stamp benefits in paper vouchers presented at the cash register. Now benefits come on a debit card, thus removing any perceived stigma of being on food stamps. And the fact that SNAP funds are provided by the federal government, but administered and spent by the states, is a proven formula, as in Medicaid, for massive spending growth. The path to end this waste—and to stop the creation of yet another generation of government dependent youths—is less government. Not more. And the way to achieve this is to get rid of DeLauro. Wayne's life experience speaks for itself. He grew up in the Cleveland projects, so he understands the need for a safety net. http://winsleyforcongress.com/about.php But--more importantly--he also knows how to pull out of it. Unlike DeLauro, Wayne has actually worked for a living. How can Rosa DeLauro, with her massive wealth, speak for the poor in anything but condescending "theories"?
Christopher Schaefer August 19, 2012 at 07:26 pm
DeLauro recently told the strikers at the nearby HealthBridge nursing home that she would get the government to pay them unemployment benefits. She knows perfectly well that this is not possible—but strikers cheered at her words, creating a great photo op for DeLauro. How dishonorable—and dishonest—can you get? DeLauro utterly lacks integrity, because her game-plan always has been to be divisive and extremist. DeLauro consistently objects to just about ANY cuts in Federal spending, but promises uninformed voters that she’ll get funding for whatever their hearts desire. Forthrightness? How about Master of Deception. As long as she and politicians like her remain in office, our economy will continue to stall, and safety-net programs like Social Security and Medicare will go bankrupt. Her pathetic record speaks for itself: nearly 22 years in office, 24 Sponsored Bills, 0 (that’s ZERO!) Made Into Law; 226 Co-Sponsored Bills, 5 Made Into Law. http://www.govtrack.us/
DeLauro will promise you anything to maintain the Good Life. It’s time to stop listening to her blather, and vote for “forthrightness, honor, and integrity”. Wayne Winsley sounds better every day; and Delauro sounds more like a schrill.
Christopher Schaefer August 19, 2012 at 07:28 pm
Rosa DeLauro: “Unemployment is 8.2%...probably it’s a higher number”. Correct! Yet she's been in office nearly 22 years. So why would anyone re-elect her for yet another term? So she can rake in another couple of million dollars for herself? http://youtu.be/Uj2rG2ozOVg Here's Wayne Winsley's rather succinct plan for economic recovery and getting government to finally work for the people—instead of self-serving lifetime politicians: http://youtu.be/bSDtBj3AKWk
(I wonder what Federal City Caterers is serving tonight at the DeLauro/Greenberg townhouse? At least all of us can sleep peacefully tonight, knowing that Schneider’s has chosen just the right wines to go with Rosa’s meal…) http://youtu.be/3iyEx-S08Nk

Rosa DeLauro = socialism/statism; reckless, undisciplined, irresponsible spending and crushing debt; dependency-oriented welfare state; hostility to oil, gas and coal, rapidly increasing prices, more dependency on Middle East oil, wasteful subsidizing of “green energy”—thereby discouraging energy innovations; failed Keynes economic “theory”; top down, one size fits all, inefficient, expensive, rationed health care run by faceless bureaucrats with more healthcare shuttled over to Medicaid—which fewer & fewer doctors accept; rising unemployment; exploding, unsustainable food stamp and welfare program; an obstructionist, rancid hack, multi-millionaire photo-op queen who has 2 or 3 talking points—all negative; YOUR American Dream replaced with Depair; HER dream financed by political nepotism.
Christopher Schaefer August 19, 2012 at 07:33 pm
Wayne Winsley = Free enterprise/free market-driven system [aka capitalism]; action to diffuse the ticking debt time-bomb; a leader who will work WITH others in Congress to develop an economic plan that both DEMS & GOP in both Senate & House can agree upon; Development of ALL American energy resources—for good paying jobs, lower prices and enhanced national security; Market based health care solutions with decisions made by Doctors and their patient-customers; Laser focus on economic growth and jobs = REAL hope, preserving American opportunity & forging ahead to a stronger, secure and better America.
“A wise and frugal government, which shall restrain men from injuring one another, shall leave them otherwise free to regulate their own pursuits of industry and improvement, and shall not take from the mouth of labor the bread it has earned. This is the sum of good government” Thomas Jefferson

The GM bailout—which DeLauro voted for—cost taxpayers a $50 Billion payout plus $45 Billion in tax credits. Govt. purchase of GM vehicles rose 79% in June—to help pad GM’s quarterly report: a ruse supported by DeLauro. The Department of Energy gifted $2.7 Million of taxpayer money to GM to reduce energy consumption: an energy “savings” supported by DeLauro. Sounds like a rather expensive way to “save” a still-troubled company, if you ask me: http://nlpc.org/stories/2012/07/05/gm%E2%80%99s-government-sales-and-truck-inventory-rise This is the kind of massive govt. waste that needs to stop—(but that DeLauro promotes)—if we are to save Social Security and Medicare. Wayne Winsley is a “real” working-person’s kind of guy—the kind of person our country’s founders had in mind when they framed the Constitution—not a bought-by-the-highest-bidder, career politician—like Rosa DeLauro.

Please forward the link to this article to as many people as possible. And encourage them to read the comments! The truth about Rosa DeLauro needs to be exposed: http://northhaven.patch.com/blog_posts/delauro-dodge-ball
Christopher Schaefer August 19, 2012 at 07:53 pm
DeLauro refuses to take action on the federal debt time-bomb—now over $50,000 PER CITIZEN—because to stay in power she must continue to make unsustainable promises to her supporters. For example, see Rosa DeLauro's major contributors: http://www.opensecrets.org/politicians/pacs.php?cycle=2012&cid=N00000615&type=I She supports government created jobs—and her biggest supporter is Labor. She supports government-funded healthcare—and her 2nd biggest supporter is the healthcare industry. Wayne Winsley understands that, if govt. will stop giving political paybacks to ALL industry—and only provide a safety net to those who truly need it—we finally can get this country back on its feet. And the way to accomplish this is for voters to dump crony, lifetime, career politicians—like Rosa DeLauro.

History of [Fabian] London School of Economics: “the decision to found the school was made at a breakfast party on 4 August 1894. All believed in advancing SOCIALIST causes”. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/History_of_the_London_School_of_Economics “The Fabian Society is a British SOCIALIST organization whose purpose is to advance the principles of democratic SOCIALISM via gradualist and reformist, rather than revolutionary, means.” http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fabian_Society
Delauro was indoctrinated [i.e. graduated from] here—obviously this explains her long history of legislative obstructionism—and her ultimate agenda. (Ah, but typically the super-wealthy like DeLauro wouldn’t benefit from a Socialist Regime, you say. However, the elite ruling class typically has special privileges. For example, do a Google image search of “hu jintao limousine”. Also do a search of “Rosa DeLauro + Joelle Fishman”…)
