Sisters Seek Owner of Missing Stuffed Animal

Two little girls from East Haven hope the owner can claim stuffed bunny found in the destruction of Tropical Storm Irene.

Recently, Jade Roberts (9) and her sister Mia (7) of East Haven took a ride with their mother, Michelle Roberts down to the beach to see if there was anything they could do to help the victims of Tropical Storm Irene while their dad, John was at work.

“My daughters were devastated by what they saw, and were literally crying over the damage that had been done," said Michelle. "They wanted to help and asked me if we could go to the store and buy things to donate and see what we had at home that some of the people could use."

That afternoon, as Michelle and her girls were leaving the destroyed neighborhood, they came upon a stuffed bunny that had washed up in the rubble. “Jade and Mia decided that we should take it home and wash it, and ask to take pictures with it while it was still dirty, and then after it was cleaned.

“My daughters are hoping that by putting this little story out there, someone will recognize the bunny and know who its rightful owner is so they can return it to them, and make even just one child a little happier after losing so much” commented Michelle.

The thoughtfulness and compassion of these two young ladies is a tremendous virtue that has obviously been taught to them by Michelle and John Roberts.  The girls have been taking special care of this adorable stuffed animal until it is returned to the child who may be missing it.
