'First Saturday' Shoreline Greenway Trail Hike

East Haven team leaders of the Shoreline Greenway Trail are hosting a hike through the Farm River State Park this Saturday morning.

Shoreline Greenway Trail’s East Haven Team leaders are hosting this season's first "First Saturday Walk" this weekend.

This Saturday's foot trail hike will head through picturesque woods, to an overview of the Bradford Preserve tidal wetlands, on the way to Farm River State Park.

Leaders say the scheduled hike — which will take place from 10 a.m. to noon — is an easy walk, with one small steep area.

Hikers are asked to meet at at the first parking lot on Elliot Street at 10 a.m.

East Haven leaders said hikers will have an opportunity to view the greenway's completed trail head at Hoop Pole and Mansfield Grove Road, as well as observe the placement of final topping on the DC Moore trail.

Other hike details include:

  • An easy, pleasant walk with one small steep area
  • Leashed dogs welcome
  • Hike is approximately 1.5 miles
  • The hike will take place in a light rain
