Girl Scout Project Adds Beauty to Middle School

If you step into the Marie Carbo Memorial Courtyard at the Joseph Melillo Middle School (JMMS), you will notice a big difference in its appearance.

This is due to the hard-working hands of the JMMS Girls Scouts who include Kelly Wysocki, Gabriella Murtag, Amanda Pascale, Samantha Incerto, Erica Colacino, Amelia Mitchell (Academy) and Julia Travers. Parents who worked and coordinated their efforts are Mrs. Annette Colacino and Mrs. Michelina Travers.

Funds for the project came from the Girl Scouts cookie fund and a generous donation of mulch and plants from Home Depot.

Thanks also to JMMS School Social Worker Joe Vita for information for this article.
