Community Plates and its volunteers "rescue" food that would otherwise wind up in the trash, but is still fresh, and deliver it to nearby food pantries on the same day, the article says.

“We have also seen a phenomenal need in places like New Haven County and Westchester County,” Mullins told the Daily Voice. “And also lots of passionate people in those places who are ready to make a difference. So we will be launching in both those counties later this year.”
