Metro-North Operating At Reduced Speeds

Metro-North's New Haven Line has lowered speeds in hopes of reducing any potential impact of the high heat and humidity on the commuter rail's system.

Metro-North Railroad says its New Haven Line is operating at reduced speeds Thursday, according to a Twitter post:

Due to high temps/the potential impact on our catenary system, New Haven trains are operating @ reduced speeds which may result in delays.

A catenary system is a system of overhead wires that provide electricity to locomotives.
