Metro-North Adding Extra Trains for Giants Parade

Going to the ticker-tape parade in Manhattan?

Metro-North Railroad is adding extra trains for commuters that want to go to New York City to attend the ticker-tape parade for the Super Bowl Champion New York Giants.

The parade is scheduled to take place in the "Canyon of the Heroes," a section of Broadway in southern Manhattan, at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 7.

MTA spokesperson Marjorie Anders said off-peak prices will apply on the extra trains.

Customers should purchase round-trip tickets in advance at ticket vending machines or ticket offices and chose the single round trip MetroCard option for travel to Lower Manhattan by New York City Subway, according to a press release.

From Grand Central take the Lexington Avenue No. 4, 5 or 6 to Brooklyn Bridge-City Hall. (The Wall Street station will be closed during the parade.)

Customers are asked to please refrain from bringing alcohol on trains.

There will be one extra train added to the New Haven line. The extra New Haven line train that departs from New York leaves at 3:23 p.m. For more information, visit MTA's website.
