Girls' Varsity Soccer Blasts Lyman Hall
The girls' varsity soccer team avenged a loss to Lyman Hall earlier in the year with a 5-0 win Tuesday night.
It is said an elephant never forgets. The East Haven girls' varsity soccer team proved that to be true at Tuesday night's home game versus Lyman Hall. The game offered the YellowJackets a chance at avenging an early-season away loss (3-5) to the Trojans.
The lady YellowJackets were looking to get back on track after a 0-5 loss to Amity on Oct. 8. Senior Amanda Cesare missed that game with an injury but was back in action Tuesday night and made her presence felt. Early in the first half, Cesare fired a beautiful shot from more than 20 yards out sailing just over the hands of the goalkeeper giving the YellowJackets a 1-0 lead.
Later in the half, Cesare would find fellow senior Megan Rea, who would outrun the Trojan defenders and send the ball into the back of the net, putting East Haven up 2-0.

In the second half, seniors Alex Muzzucco and Nikki Baldino would both find open space giving East Haven a commanding 4-0 lead. Muzzucco would score again late in the half to put away Lyman Hall 5-0.
The YellowJackets bounce off a 0-5 loss to Amity with a mirror-image win, improving to (4-6) overall.
