East Haven Girls Basketball: 'Team of the Week'

The girls basketball team won the New Haven Register's "Team of the Week" honor.

The Lady Yellow Jackets finished with more than 50 percent of the voting in the online poll that choses each week's winner from a group of nominees.

Congratulations to the team, as well as to the community for working together to ensure the girls got our votes!

Over the last 24 hours, the Lady Yellow Jackets have moved from second to first place in the "Team of the Week" poll — and there's still time to vote to ensure the East Haven High School girls basketball team comes out on top!

The online poll closes at 6 p.m. tonight. So let's make sure the girls keep up their strong showing. Go Easties!

With the Lady Yellow Jackets off to a winning record of 7-5, the New Haven Register has nominated the s girls varsity basketball team as "Team of the Week."

And the online poll is close.

As of 8:30 a.m. this morning, Daniel Hand High School gymnastics team is in the lead with 43.1 percent of the vote, East Haven is second with 40.42 percent and Hand's boys hockey in third place with 16.48 percent.
