Hurricane Sandy: East Haven Public Schools Closed Friday

Continued power outages at two East Haven elementary schools has forced the district to once again cancel school following Hurricane Sandy. Saturday's SAT test, however, will take place as planned.

East Haven Public Schools have once again been forced to cancel classes Friday due to continued power problems at two of the district's elementary schools.

Both Ferrara Elementary School and Deer Run Elementary School, both in the Foxon section of town, have been without electricity since Hurricane Sandy punished the town and much of the eastern seaboard Monday into Tuesday afternoon.

The cancellation of Friday's school day means the district has lost a full week of classes for the 2012-13 instructional year.
