The Old Stone Church Playschool in East Haven is now registering for the 2012-2013 Playschool year. This will be the 50th Anniversary Year that the Playschool has been serving the East Haven residents and surrounding communities with this wonderful early childhood program for 3, 4, and 5-year-old children. Class size is 12 children to 2 teachers and is three hours long from 8:45 a.m. to 11:45 a.m. Our small class size gives the teachers a chance to get to know each child and family and to be sensitive to each of the children’s capabilities in a caring way. Because of our class size it is recommended to register your child early to be assured of enrollment in September. The Playschool is inspected and approved by the East Haven Fire Marshall, the East Shore District Health Department, and is licensed by The State of Connecticut Department of Public Health Child Day Care Licensing Unit. The Connecticut St. Dept. of Education Preschool Framework is followed. In addition to our regular program a new extended full-day program is being offered for the first time starting this fall from 7:30 a.m. to 5:15 p.m. We encourage families to schedule a tour to see the classrooms and meet the faculty. And if you think the only thing to check is if the panels are dirty, then it isn't worth answering you. A large investment of tax dollars was made and it is paying off with lower electric bills. The systems delivering these savings need to be checked, that is why people who were smart enough to sign a maintenance agreement did just that.
Ask the BOE how the chiller replacement is going at the High School; due to lack of maintenance they lost two chillers that should have lasted at least 10 to 15 more years. Penny wise and dollar foolish is what this is all about, not the election year, but what else could we expect from you Richard. You have become the cheer leader of the administration.

I'd worry about the kids walking to the bus stops and school being run down by these careless drivers... EVERY DAY I SEE IT !!!! I wish the Police Department would put an unmarked car in the area.. The Town of East Haven would be rich from ALL the Fines !!!!!

Then call the Chiefs office and hit him with that. If nothing happens go to next Town Council meeting and during general public comments ask WHY nothing is done when complaint is made. Good luck.

Political trip-wire. I have always felt no one should be allowed to claim or build on shoreline land within a mile of the water, with the exception of ports, on either coast. If it all were National Park lands... if only that decision was made way back when the land was pure and clean... the present and future wouldn't be as nightmarish as it inevitably will be. Only 50 years ago, when I was a very small child, I remember chasing all kinds of sea creatures (crabs, sea horses, star fish) around Silver Sands beach while my Dad caught a bushel of flounder. Where are they now? Yup, I'm a "Tree-Hugger" and, as outrageous as such a plan would be, I would throw all my energy behind a plan to de-populate the shoreline.
