East Haven Hockey Falls One Short Against West Haven

The Easties rallied late in the third period, but it wasn't enough as West Haven held on for a 4-3 win Saturday.

East Haven came within one after scoring a goal with only 15 seconds left in the third period, but West Haven was able to hold on for the win to give the Easties their first loss of the season Saturday afternoon, according to a report in the Milford-Orange Bulletin.

East Haven lost to West Haven 4-3. The Easties' record is now 6-1-1.

The team's next game will be against Milford at home () this Thursday, Jan. 12, beginning at 7:30 p.m.

's undefeated boys hockey team currently sits in 6th place on the Hartford Courant's statewide boys hockey ratings after beginning their season with a 6-0-1 record.

The Easties were not among the crop of ranked teams on the Courant's preseason ratings. But after an impressive start, the team quickly found themselves in the Top 10 by the end of the first week of games.

The Easties' next game is this afternoon, when the team takes on neighboring West Haven away at 1 p.m.

On Wednesday, East Haven defeated North Haven in overtime 4-3.
