East Haven Parenting Workshop Begins April 2

The Family Resource Center will hold a free parenting workshop for East Haven families starting next week.

The is sponsoring a free workshop for East Haven families that will focus on advanced parenting and communication skills.

The class — which is targeted toward parents or grandparents with children ages birth through 5 years old — will hold its first session Monday, April 2 from 9:45 to 11:30 a.m. Breakfast snacks will be served.

The workshop will then continue weekly each Monday through to May 28. There will, however, be no class on April 16.

Curriculum

The curriculum will include:

The group will build on the communication and parenting skills that were presented in the Make Parenting a Pleasure class, according to the center's Parent Educator Marissa Velaquez.

Velaquez added that it is not necessary for parents or grandparents to have completed the MPAP work to attend this workshop.
