Principal Stephen Anderson is resigning from his post to take a new one elsewhere.

Word began to spread throughout the school and parent community late yesterday of Anderson's decision to leave East Haven in order to move on to an administrative position with another area school system.

East Haven Patch's calls earlier this morning to East Haven Superintendent of Schools Anthony Serio and to Principal Anderson looking to confirm the reports have net yet been returned.

However, the New Haven Register's Jennifer Swift reported a short time ago via her blog that East Haven Board of Education Chairman Thomas Hennessey had confirmed Anderson has given his notice that he is leaving the district.

There is no official word yet on when Anderson's last day will be at EHHS. Or what the district's plans are for naming an interim principal.

The East Haven school board's next regularly scheduled meet is this Tuesday, Aug. 14.
