East Haven CAPT, CMT Scores Remain Below State Average

Overall, standardized test scores remained pretty flat for the East Haven School District, although the results were mostly below the state average.

Standardized test scores are in for East Haven, and while the numbers are similar to last year's totals, they remain below the state average.

Tuesday, the Connecticut Department of Education released the Connecticut Academic Performance Test (CAPT) and the CMT scores for all Connecticut school districts. On the CAPT tests, which is given to 10th graders, East Haven students did about as well as last year's group, but the scores remain below the state average.

The CMTs were similar. While there were some improvements in some subjects and some grades, there were drop offs in others.

The CMTs are administered to all students from grade three to grade eight. Students are tested in math, reading and writing, and in middle school, they are tested in science as well.
