"Bye Bye Trout" Sung by Overbrook Students

Today was the day that the entire Overbrook Elementary School population said goodbye to the baby trout they had raised.

The fish, given to the school by the CT DEP, were lovingly released into a fresh-water stream at the North Farms State Park in North Branford.

Before they were set free, the students sang a song:

Trout Song
(To the tune of "Bye, Bye Love by the Everly Brothers)

Bye Bye Trout
Bye Bye Aquatic Friends
We hope we'll see you when
(You're swimmin' down the stream)

There go our pals
They're doin' fine
And now they're lookin'
For a place to dine.

Look out you Stoneflies
And Mayflies, too.
Our little fish are
Comin' after you.
