Bowling For the Band
EHHS YellowJacket Marching Band held its second annual bowling fundraiser.
More than 100 $15 tickets were sold for East Haven High School’s Yellow Jacket Marching Band's second annual bowling fundraiser, held on March 20 at Circle Lanes. Bob and Carole Alsever were the chairs.
Moms and band members baked cookies, brownies and Rice Crispy treats for our bake sale. Becki Pastor, Kristine Montesanto and her husband, George, manned the table of goodies priced at 50 cents each or three for $1. Mayor April dropped by to show her support for the kids.
Kids won prizes at the grabber machines. My son Daniel won two stuffed animals in one shot and gave them to his sister (a piggy) and me (a hot-pink mouse).

Brittany Mazzara noshed on pizza and others snacked on chicken fingers, fries and nachos downing them with punch and soda available for purchase.
There were strikes and spares on every lane. I had quite a few gutter balls to my credit, so my kids decided that mom needed to have bumpers on her alley. Wasn’t that thoughtful?

Everyone seemed to have a great time and agreed that $15 for three hours of unlimited bowling and shoe rental was a great price. One-hundred percent of the bake sale and 50 percent of the bowling fees went to the band.
