East Haven's Assistant Superintendent of Schools Erica Forti will continue to serve in her position for at least one more year.
Forti was granted a by the Board of Education at Tuesday night's regularly scheduled meeting.
The vote to approve the extension was unanimous.
The details of the extension — including if it included a pay increase — were not available immediately following Tuesday night's meeting.
In addition to Forti, the school board also unanimously approved a one-year contract extension for the district's Marissa Velazquez.

Contentious Executive Session
The vote to extend both contracts followed a lengthy executive session, which at times was contentious with some board members speaking to each other with raised voices that could be heard outside the meeting room in the hallway.
The majority of the session focused on a review of the district's hiring policy for administrators, sparked by school board member Charles Scalesse's questioning the process used to select the during the meeting's public session.
