Antonia Prete is moving onto third grade in the fall and looking forward to attending East Haven Academy. She was nominated as an EH Whiz kid by Deer Run Principal Bill Grimm. “Antonia is a very respectful child with wonderful manners," boasted Grimm. "She always lives up to academic expectations and comes to school every day prepared to do her best.”

This whiz kid is the daughter of Joe and Tara Prete. She has a younger sister named Erin who will be turning five in August. Antonia has a love for her pets. She has a dog named Bubba, and a kitty named Jeter.
Interests: Antonia’s hobbies and interests include dancing and playing basketball and baseball. She loves to ride her bike and swims at the YMCA in Branford for recreation with her family. She loves to go to the beach and spend time with Erin. Last year, Antonia was on a T-ball team, and her dad was one of her coaches. “Any quotes from me might be a little biased,” joked Joe Prete of his daughter as a player on the team.
Accomplishments: When it comes to accomplishments, Antonia holds high grades in school and recently made her First Reconciliation at Our Lady of Pompeii Church.
Key to Awesomeness: Joe Prete said he believes “the key to awesomeness for Antonia is her love of family and her kindness. My wife and I are very proud of our little girl.”
Future plans: Antonia wants to be a teacher because she loves reading. “Antonia loves everything about school," said her father. "She just volunteered to do another book report. Reading is her favorite subject."
