A Snow Day for East Haven Schools – in November

Yesterday's storm dropped plenty of snow on the town. And with slick and dangerous road conditions, school will be closed today, Thursday, Nov. 8, 2012.

It's starting to feel a little like summer vacation — minus the warmth, nice weather and beach days! With five days off due to Hurricane Sandy last week, students finally headed back to class on Monday.

But another storm, put a quick end to that with an unexpected amount of snow.

This will be the seventh day the school district has not had school in the last 10 days: five days were lost last week due to Sandy and one this week due to Election Day.

With buses sliding on slick streets yesterday afternoon and the snow accumulating through the frigid night, the East Haven School District closed schools today, Thursday, Nov. 8. (Don't forget to check out the great photos coming in of the shoreline's November Nor'easter snowscapes — and add your own, too!)

Tell us: Will you be digging out the snowpants, boots, gloves and hats to bundle up your kids like Ralphie's little brother in A Christmas Story so they can play in the snow?
