Community Update

It has come to my attention, yet again, that children in some East Haven grammar schools are losing recess as a form of "punishment" for things like, forgetting homework, and an array of other reasons. 
What many parents don't know is that pursuant to CT General Statute 10-221o, all children grades K-5 must receive at least 20 minutes per day of physical activity. 
I had this exact conversation with Assistant Superintendent Erica Forti a couple of years ago and was informed by her that compliance with the statute would begin immediately. Apparently, the district has decided to ignore the legislature as it continues to break the law.
