Video Tricks and Treats with Jay Miles — Workshop for Teens & Adults at Hagaman Library

Video workshop for young adults and adults at Hagaman Library — no experience necessary.

East Haven's Hagaman Memorial Library is proud to announce the return of local author and educator Jay Miles, for another exciting video workshop! Miles, author of Conquering YouTube (www.mwp.com), will be demonstrating safe, affordable, hands-on tricks and treats for spooking up your videos with a little Halloween flavor! From simple lighting and camera techniques to advanced video hijinks for creating ghosts, Miles will be bring his unique approach to memorable videomaking to the library on Saturday, October 22nd, from 10:30AM-noon. The event is free and open to the public — please see registration info, below.
 
This video workshop marks Miles' second event at Hagaman, and will be followed by the second part of the library's special two-part seires on how to Create Your Own Graphic Novel (1pm, sponsored by the Connecticut Humanities Council).
 
Conquering YouTube features 101 pro video tips designed to walk aspiring video gurus through basic, intermediate and advanced video techiniques. In the book, Miles combines his 20 years of on-set professional experience with simple, affordable exercises covering lighting, audio, editing and more. Miles is also the Tech Ed/Media Instructor at East Haven High School, teaching courses in video, audio and television news.
