We Must All Take An Active Role

It has been my experience that when good things happen, good people are involved in the process and you know good people by that which they accomplish.

I have been a proud resident of East Haven for more than 20 years and together we have survived the wrath of last year's violent storm Irene and most recently the destructive force of Hurricane Sandy.

I firmly believe that in order to fully recover and achieve a vibrant community capable of rebuilding from the past and building toward a future of steady growth that provides all residents with a quality of life, we must all do our part and take an active role in the rebuilding of our community.

It is my belief that it is not the town that defines how great the people are, but the people that define how great the town is.

We must learn to put aside our differences, remove the barriers that prevent us from helping one another, and judge one another by our actions, not our preconceptions based on what society tells us. We must work together as one to rebuild from the recent storms and cross those once-uncrossed lines and reach out to help those in our community who need and willingly accept our help.

This town's greatest strength is its ability to work together and function as a team in times of strife and to put aside our petty bickering, which only leads to stalemates and lack of progressive action. We must work for the greater good of our community.

It has been my experience that when good things happen, good people are involved in the process and you know good people by that which they accomplish.
