Hoff: Getting 'Trapped' by Senator Fasano is 'Unethical'

Politics

This Morning while I as an interested East Haven Resident attended the Ribbon cutting ceremony of The Shoreline Greenway Trail located by D.C. Moore School I had an interesting thing occur. I was there simply as spectator to watch and take part in East Haven history, walk the new trail and enjoy the morning.

However,..After the ceremony things did indeed change as State Senator Leonard Fasano approached me and standing in my face in a confrontational manner Senator Fasano stated that he has heard I had a question for him.

Keeping my composure and being respective of his office I informed him that I did however today's event was not the place to discuss this matter. I had mentioned that perhaps in one of his blogs would be the best place he then snapped at me and said I don't blog I do press releases.

He leaned in and moved forward toward me and began speaking focusing his eyes on me in the same manner a hunter would focus on their prey.

Since there was no removing myself from the situation as I now felt trapped,..I directly asked The Senator as respectively as I could if his office had ever profitted from the Foxon Quarry.

Senator Fasano informed me that his office had indeed advocated on behalf of the Quarry Operators and had acceptted money as paymet for Services rendered.

I then asked about the Blue Stone that had been hauled out of there and the Senator informed me that there was indeed very little Blue Stone in the Quarry.

I told him how I had sat in one gentlemens house nearby the Quarry and felt the power of one of the blasts from the Quarry as it shook the residents house with such force it felt like an earthquake had taaken place.

Senator Fasano then scoffed and said well had anyone every filed a lawsuit?

I stated I was unsure about the status of any lawsuits but thinking about it now as State Senator it would seem to me that if any lawsuits had been filed he surely would have known about it as his office was profitting by representing the Quarry Developers.

I firmly acknowledge that His office representing The Quarry  Operators against the residents at a point in time when he was serving as State Senator and suppossed to be representing the residents of East Haven is unethical to say the least.

I also firmly believe that trapping an East Haven Resident in the way that I was trapped by The Senator this morning is unethical and as it is well known that I have a seizure disorder which can be brought on by stress that Senator Fasano not only disrespected and tried to intimidate a East Haven resident by becoming confrontational but that he could have caused and unsafe medical situation to occur.

But then is it any wonder The Senator would stoop to such tactics as he was accompanied by Mayor Joe Maturo a man who just months ago was disrepecting our latino residents in a well publicized incident.
