A Head-to-Head Look at the State Representative Race

A head to head look at the State Representative Race.

As I sit here looking at several different factors concerning whom would be the best candidate to represent the residents of East Haven I draw upon the information presented by the East Haven Patch.

The first Candidate I will look at in order to keep this blog fair and balanced is Mr. Craig Cubellotti

The Factors I will be examining are Education and Level of Experience in the political arena as I feel that in order to be an effective leader as a State Representative and do an effective job you must have the skills necessary to perform the various functions of the day to day tasks that are involved in holding that position:

General Information Name : Craig Thomas  Cubellotti

Age : 22

Place of residence : 55 Bishop St. East Haven, Ct. 06512

Education College Attended college : Yes

College : Gateway Community CollegeDegree : None

Year of graduation : Didn't graduate.  Went for 1 semester in 2010, and took 2 classes.

Employment Information Job titles held : Sheet Metal Apprentice, Pipe Fitting helper, Political Field Representative, Assistant Clerk, Advance Representative

Employers : Quality Mechanical, Southern Ct Gas, Linda McMahon for Senate 2010, Connecticut General Assembly, Jon Huntsman for President, Rick Perry for President

Political Information

Party affiliation : Republican Running for a: State office

Running for position: State Representative

Chamber/district: 99thIncumbent:

 NoPrevious elective offices : NA

Unsuccessful bids for elective offices : Board of Education in 2011

As I examine the record of Mr Craig Cubelotti to say the least I am unimpressed in both the Educational background and Previous Political background experience.

When I examine the information on Mr James Albis it appears as follows:

General Information

Name : Mr. James M  Albis  Age : 28

Place of residence : East Haven

Education College Attended college : Yes

College : New York University

Degree : B.A., Economics

Year of graduation : 2006

Employment Information Job titles held : Community Development Coordinator

Employers : Town of East Haven

 Political Information

  Party affiliation : Democrat

Running for a: State office Running for position: State Representative

Chamber/district: 99

Incumbent: Yes

First elected: 22 February 2011

Previous elective offices : NA

Unsuccessful bids for elective offices: NA

I can clearly see that Mr James Albis holds a degree in Economics from New York University a degree which given the current economic condition of not only our country but the state of CT and the great town of East Haven is sorely needed.

Someone who can think on their feet and put a strong educational background to use to help build and develop East Haven into all it can be and more for all residents regardless of political affiliation.

I also mentioned that I would be looking at the Political experience of the two candidates for the office of State Representative and Mr James Albis is the incumbent having served one term in the position.

Mr Craig Cubellotti as stated has never held political office and has a unsuccessful bid for the Board of Education in 2011.

So in my opinion when you compare the qualifications of both of the candidates Mr James Albis comes out on top on both Education and Experience and therefore I feel that Mr James Albis is the superior candidate for this position.

If we as truly wish to elect the best possible candidate to represent our town regardless of political affiliation I truly believe that we need to re-elect Mr James Albis to this position so that he my continue the work he has begun of building East Haven into the very best it can be for all residents.
