Mayor's Office: East Haven Winter Ordinances Now in Effect

Town officials are reminding residents that several ordinances are now in effect for the winter months and during snow events.

The following is a press release from the East Haven Mayor's Office.

Mayor Joseph Maturo, Jr. would like to remind East Haven residents and businesses that the town has several ordinances in effect for the winter months and during snow events. 

They are as follows:

From Nov. 15 to April 15

All vehicles shall be parked on off-street facilities where such off-street facilities are available.

Unless otherwise posted, vehicles shall be permitted to park only on the EVEN numbered sides of streets.

During Snow Alerts or Snowstorms

The owners of vehicles shall be required to remove their vehicles from the EVEN numbered sides of the street within 6 HOURS AFTER odd numbered sides of street has been plowed and cleared.

Any vehicles on streets posted, which instruct parking on ODD numbered sides shall be moved to the EVEN side within 6 HOURS AFTER even numbered sides of street has been plowed and cleared.

This procedure will enable the Public Services Department to properly and efficiently clear each street.

Sidewalks

All residents and businesses must clear sidewalks of snow within 24 hours following the end of the storm.
