Mayor Maturo Looks Forward To A "Spirited Election Season" With Stacey

Regarding Jack Stacey’s victory in East Haven’s Democratic primary, Mayor Joseph Maturo Jr. released the following statement:

“The people of East Haven now have a clear choice in the upcoming November election between an experienced and proven leader who delivers responsive, reliable, fiscally responsible government and a challenger who, with only 55 days until Election Day, has failed to demonstrate any understanding of the key issues facing our community including taxes, municipal finances, or education.

In the past 21 months, we’ve lowered taxes for 70% of homes in Town, balanced two budgets, and restored the Town’s rainy day fund to over $1 million dollars, its highest level in over 4 years. At the same time, we’ve brought business anchors like Shoprite and Hobby Lobby to key parts of Town, jump-starting economic development. Although we still have a lot of hard work left, we’ve put East Haven back on the right track.
