Interim East Haven Police Chief Brent Larrabee has been selected as the new permanent head of the East Haven Police Department, according to a New Haven Register report posted early Monday evening.

Mayor Joseph Maturo Jr. has just notified area media outlets that he will be holding a press conference Tuesday morning to announce his choice for the new permanent chief of police for the East Haven Police Department.
The conference will be held in front of the Mayor's Office inside Town Hall starting at 10 a.m.
Maturo announced earlier this month that the pool of candidates had been shrunk down to five finalists — including current Interim Police Chief Brent Larabbee.

He has demonstrated thus far he has exactly what it takes to bring the department to a new level of respectability and safeguard the residents of East Haven. I could not agree with this choice more and wish Chief Larabee all the best.
