Maturo: 'I Stand Behind Behind Our Men And Women In Blue'

"We will get through this," East Haven Mayor Joseph Maturo Jr said of the indictment of four East Haven Police officers for alleged civil rights violations.

Mayor Joseph Maturo Jr is unequivocal of his support for the .

"I stand behind our men and women in blue," Maturo told East Haven Patch.

Maturo's remarks come on the heels of the Federal Bureua of Investigation's Tuesday for alleged criminal civil rights violations against Latino residents and others.

The mayor added that he felt the situation was particurly unfortunate for East Haven Police Department members and their families.

"I feel for them," he said.

Maturo said all four officers — , , and — were now on administrative leave, where they will remain until the "matter is resolved."

Maturo added that while this will be a difficult time for the town, his administration will be taking things "day by day."

"We will get through this," he said.

"And I just want to assure the public that our men and woman in uniform will be out there protecting them as normal," Maturo said.
