Maturo: "I Ask for Your Continued Patience' as Town Crews Clear Roads

East Haven Mayor Joseph Maturo Jr is asking for residents' to remain patient as town road crews work to clear the streets and roadways from some three feet of snow that fell during the blizzard.

The following is an open letter to East Haven residents from Mayor Joseph Maturo Jr posted via his public Facebook page.

To my fellow residents:

I have been receiving your concerns via e-mail about the condition of the roads and understand everyone's frustration with the speed of the cleanup.

However, I can assure everyone that our Public Works Department has not stopped working since the start of this blizzard.

Our public works employees did not go home last night and they will be working straight through the night again to clear roads and make it safe to travel.

In order to speed up the cleanup process, the Town has engaged outside contractors to supplement our Public Works Department.

I will remind you all that the Town is still in a state of emergency and that most businesses are closed.

As a result, you should continue to stay off the roads until they can be made safe for travel.

I ask for your continued patience as our Public Works Department continues to respond to this blizzard.

Thank you for your patience and please be safe.

Mayor Joseph Maturo, Jr.
