Malloy Partially Activates Emergency Operations Center

The Governor's Office is warning of high winds throughout the state today.

Gov. Dannel P. Malloy has ordered a partial activation of the State Armory in Hartford beginning at 8 a.m. today to "monitor and manage" wind related issues such as power outages or fallen branches that could arise as a result of forecasted heavy winds.

A is in effect for until about 6 p.m. tonight, with the strongest winds expected in the morning.

“After talking with my emergency management officials and assessing the situation, we will be partially activating the EOC at 8 a.m. tomorrow,” Malloy said in a statement.  “This will allow us to quickly respond to and coordinate any problems that may arise as a result of Saturday’s potentially high winds.”
