This article is written by Eileen McNamara:

If the immigration reform bill pending in Congress passes, Connecticut would see an uptick of 7,000 new jobs by 2014, White House officials said Wednesday.

During a conference call with reporters across the country — intended to put pressure on Congress to approve the reform bill — a White House spokesman said passage of the bill is expected to boost job growth in Connecticut because the bill includes job expansion measures. It also would lure those in the country illegally and working under the table to join the legitimate workforce the Hartford Courant reports.
The White House officials taking part in the conference call said 17 percent of Connecticut's workforce is foreign born. They also said that while the immigration reform bill is currently stalled in Congress they are hoping the Republican U.S. House speaker will bring the measure up for a vote soon.

I'm sorry, but when will the liberals start to smell what is really being spread on the ground. People, a little history about immigration. Way back when, 1986 to be exact, Congress with pressure by then President Reagan, passed the Simpson-Mazzoli bill, actually known as the Immigration and Reform Act. This act had three main points put in place to help the on-slaught of illegals flooding this country. It was estimated back then that there were 3 million illegals in the country. Sorry, I will not now nor ever use the politically correct term 'undocumented worker". Illegal is what they are. Anyway, the new immigration law was to secure the border, tighten laws against employers hiring illegals, and the biggie, allow for citizenship for those proving they were in country in 1982. Guess what? Border never secure otherwise we wouldn't have the 11 plus million illegals we have now, the employers still hired and someone tell me how many came running to become citizens. This bill/act didn't work in 1986 so what makes the liberals think there way will solve the problem. It will not.

Disaster for CT and the US. People can't find jobs now, imagine if there were all these illegals now competing for the same jobs. "a White House spokesman said passage of the bill is expected to boost job growth in Connecticut because the bill includes job expansion measures." Who said this, Jay Carney? Do not believe anything coming out of the White house, all lies! Maybe all these illegals should go work for the white house because there is no way in hell that the white house will provide enough jobs for 11 million people.

Lou, they don't have to supply jobs. Its called entitlement programs.
Lou August 01, 2013 at 01:39 PM
Disgusting, they should take away entitlements all together and only give them to people who are working and need some extra help. To hell with the lazy scumbags that choose not to work.

They enter our Country illegally....... we give them housing , healthcare, food stamps..... now we're going to give them driver's licences..... next they will demand voting rights... WTF is happening to our Country..... They're not illegal aliens or undocumented workers...... they're criminals that entered my Country illegally

In addition to 7,000 less jobs for Americans it will soon. result in an additional tax burden of around 3/4 billion a year to Americans if each of these 7,000 have 3 children each. For starters, 21000 kids entitled to public education at 15,000 dollars per year per kid. An additional 8,000 or so in food stamps times 7000 per year. Section 8 at like 500 per month x 7000. And add Obama care for many since employers will intentionally keep them under 30 hours per week. So actually we're talking a tax burden greater than a billion dollars. With earned income credit the 7000 won't pay any tax.

Illegals don't only enter the country through the border a lot of them enter the country by plane. They come from Italy, china, Haiti etc etc. they enter the country with a visa, once the visa expires and they don't return to their country that's when they become illegal.

pasarela. are you kidding......Arrests of illegal immigrants crossing into the United States have nearly tripled in recent months — in anticipation of Congressional efforts to enact comprehensive immigration legislation, border patrol agents told CBS News Wednesday. “Once the first group gets across, they call their family, they call their friends and let them know, ‘Hey the time is right, come on over,’” Border Patrol agent and union representative Chris Cabrera told CBS News. In March, 7,500 illegals were arrested in the Rio Grande Valley of South Texas — which includes McAllen — Cabrera told CBS News. That’s up from 2,800 in January. In February, nearly 4,800 illegals were arrested in the Rio Grande, the local news website The Monitor.com reports. In fact, agents in McAllen used their station’s carport to process nearly 900 illegals caught over three days in March, according to the Monitor.com.

Pasarela, I don't care where they are from, illegal is illegal. They should be put in jail for the rest of their lives. How else will they lean? Oh, wait, doesn't matter, the idiot president wants them all in.
pasarela August 02, 2013 at 08:11 PM
Mr. Cianelli don't play blind, I understand what you quoted and I agree, I said that illegals do not only come through the border. Lou, I agree that illegal means illegal and the word says it all if someone is illegal well then obviously the rules are being broken by that person. They shouldn't be put in jail for the rest of their lives, that's an exageration but that's why they get a 10 year punishment from becoming a resident.

I'm a little confused as to the "10 year punishment" thing. Would you please explain what you mean. Thanks.
pasarela August 02, 2013 at 11:19 PM
If the illegal alien is caught he will serve jail time, a fine and deported and ( not sure if caught for a second time) the person will be banned from the US for ten years with no chance of forgiveness anytime before the ten years.

Once again our leaders are looking out for them selfs and serving there masters which are big business. Every poll i checked out its seven or eight to one against the amnesty bill. Its out there loud and clear that law abiding citizens do not want to reward these illegal criminals for there actions the only ones that will benefit from this disaster-is bill is big business and the boys on the hill. We are once again being sold out by the biggest criminals of all our elected leaders. You have to be sure to contact your state reps and tell them how you feel and that you think they should vote no on the bill S744 . All this bill will do is make it harder for honest law abiding citizens to get a job and it will cost us more in welfare and hand outs them they will ever get in taxes from them remember they are law breakers and now will become saints i do not think so. I would send every one of them packing and any kids born here illegal have to go also. Rewarding these criminals for breaking the law is only going to give others criminals incentive to follow. Stop it mow close the boarders and send illegals back once they have amnesty they will not want to pick apples any longer they will be demanding better jobs our salaries will ho down and benefits a thing of the past Wake up America this will ruin us for decades if not for ever

pasarela...If the illegal alien is caught he will NOT serve jail time, or fine or be deported..... New Haven Connecticut is a sanctuary city for illegal aliens and now our State Rep. Albis will be giving them driver's licences ...... Please get your facts straight !!!!
pasarela August 03, 2013 at 09:10 PM
Mr. Cianelli you have ignorance coming out of every single one of your pores. New Haven Yes is know as the sanctuary city but this doesn't mean it can act against immigration laws. Before you continue to spread the nonsense coming out of yourself to others you need to get the facts straight and educate yourself better on the topic before commenting. @ Mickey Dee thank god you are just a powerless jerk because if you had power someone else would be called the criminal. Meaning you.
pasarela August 03, 2013 at 09:15 PM
Oh and by the way... State Representative Albis is doing a great job. I support him 100+%
Lou August 03, 2013 at 10:41 PM
Pasarela open your eyes. Please don't be another sheep.
pasarela August 03, 2013 at 11:06 PM
Lou don't waste your last brain cell.
Lou August 05, 2013 at 09:35 AM
You did!
Richard Poulton August 05, 2013 at 11:21 AM
Just a quick reply to "pasarela" and the comment made above at 11:19 PM. You should read the story about Mr. Jose Maria Islas, an illegal entry. Not once, not twice, but this is the 5th time he was found illegally in this country. No "real" jail time. can't even get him deported (for the 5th time) because of the liberals at Yale. This country doesn't have the balls to take on Yale. So where is the punishment you state happens when an illegal is found? Where? Not in NH anyway.
