Help Fair Planned for Residents Affected by Irene
East Haven Mayor April Capone announces the fair in a letter to residents.

Dear East Haven Resident:
On Sunday, Aug. 28, the Town of East Haven was impacted by Hurricane Irene. The entire town felt the relentless wrath of this destructive weather system which went unimpeded for over 12 hours.

Major damage was witnessed in the lower lying areas, Momauguin, the Center, and Foxon; no section of town was immune. The Town has concentrated efforts assisting those most affected by the hurricane.
Utility companies, including U.I., CL&P, AT&T, Comcast and many more are working tirelessly to restore their systems back to pre-storm conditions.

A Help Fair is being planned for Saturday, Sept. 3, from 9 a.m. to noon, at , 35 Wheelbarrow Lane. Representatives from FEMA, Red Cross, CT Insurance, CT Department of Economic and Community Development, United Illuminating, AT&T, Comcast, United Way, and more will be available to answer/address any questions, comments, and concerns.
The Town of East Haven is resilient and coordinated cleanup efforts are ongoing. Our resolve has been tested and we will recover from this natural disaster.

The Town Landfill’s hours have been extended. It will be open Monday through Saturday, 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., to accommodate East Haven residents dropping off debris. There is no fee for small car loads, brush, and debris. Please bring identification for address verification.
Any donations or volunteers please bring/register with Red Cross, Food Bank, or any assistance organization.
