From Rep-elect To Rep -- Albis Sworn in

East Haven's new state representative was made official Friday.

The victor in Tuesday's special election was officially sworn into office Friday as the new representative for East Haven's 99th House District.

"My predecessor always worked hard for the people of our district and I plan to continue that tradition," said Democratic state Rep. James Albis. "We have a lot of work ahead of us and I am ready for the challenge.”

Albis is serving out Mike Lawlor's term. Lawlor was reelected for the 12th time last November but resigned last month to take a job in Gov. Malloy's Office of Policy and Management. A special election was held here on Feb. 22. Albis bested Republican Linda Monaco, who had also challenged and lost to Lawlor last November.
