East Haven's Democrats Support Stacey, Not DePalma, for Future Mayor
According to the DTC, it's "The Stacey Team For A Better East Haven."
At their caucus July 16, the members of the East Haven Democratic Town Committee (DTC) chose a slate of candidates for the November 2013 municipal election including John "Jack" Stacey for Mayor over fellow Democrat Gary DePalma.
According to DTC Chairman Gene Ruocco, 61 out of 65 DTC members were present to vote.
The votes for mayoral candidate were 44 to 17 in favor of Stacey.

According to Ruocco, 12 DTC members read from a typed statement asking that their names be removed from the ballot sheet.
"It was an embarrassing display of poor politicking," noted Ruocco. "There are contentious political meetings happening all over this state, but this was unnecessary. Many of them would have made decent, viable candidates."
