“I am extremely pleased with the selection of David,” the Madison first selectman said in a prepared statement.  “He brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the job and is ideally suited to help members of the public with their projects”.

Regarding the hiring process itself, McPherson said: “When the previous position came open last summer, we took a step back to see if the Town could benefit from any changes. With that, we added some economic development duties so that we could better walk the fine line between maintaining the essential character of the town while improving the grand list.  We involved the various volunteer boards and commissions concerned to find the right candidate from the 27 applicants. We think we have succeeded as David was the choice hands down.”

Anderson graduated from the College of William and Mary with a BBA in Business Administration and from Virginia Commonwealth University with an MPA in Public Administration. He worked in several planning positions in Virginia before moving back to his home state of Connecticut in 2008.
