East Haven Town Taxes Due Aug. 1

Residents and property owners can also pay online, in addition to mailing in their payment or paying in person at town hall.

There was more than just the in the July 2012 tax notices recently mailed out from town hall — there was also that pesky municipal tax bill included inside the envelope.

And so, if you haven't already done so, time is running out to pay your motor vehicle tax bill, and the first installment for all real estate and personal property taxes.

Taxes are due to be in the mail or paid in person to the Town of East Haven Tax Department, 250 Main Street, by Wednesday, Aug. 1, 2012.

If you lost or did not receive your tax bill, call 203–468–3307 to get a copy.

Online Tax Payments

In addition to the mail and in-person payments, the also accepts online payments via credit cards and E-checks.

And there are three different ways to pay:

The East Haven jurisdiction code is "1782" for the Officials Payments service.

Town officials note, however, that the taxpayer is responsible for all fees associated with online payments.

Second Installment

The second installment must be paid in person or postmarked by no later than February 1st.

No tax bill is sent out for the second installment.

Town officials remind residents that it is the responsibility of the taxpayer to send in the second installment.

The East Haven Tax Department is open Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The office is also open the last Saturday in July from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
