RTC List of Endorsed Candidates Includes Mayor Maturo For Another Term

Along with other candidates, the East Haven RTC this week selected East Haven Mayor Joseph Maturo as its candidate again this November.

Earlier this week, the East Haven Republican Town Committee nominated incumbent Mayor Joseph Maturo, Jr. for reelection this November.

Maturo has been the Republican's choice for mayor every election year since 1995, with the exception of 2009. The New Haven Register reports that Maturo said he felt privileged to have received his party's nomination.

“I feel lucky,” Maturo said to the newspaper. “I talked about the way I felt the first time I was nominated. I feel the same way the ninth time.”
