East Haven Mayoral Candidates' Latest Financial Reports Are In

And current Mayor April Capone's campaign has raised twice as much her Republican challenger, former mayor Joseph Maturo Jr. Will it make a difference at the ballot box Tuesday?

East Haven's three mayoral candidates have filed their required monthly financial reports for last month.

And, with only five days before Tuesday's election, incumbent Democratic candidate continues to lead the fundraising field — by tens of thousands of dollars.

According to the reports, which are filed with , Capone's campaign has raised a total of $88,675 in individual and committee contributions, with $10,545 coming during the Oct. 1-25 reporting period for the current financial statement.

Capone's campaign
has spent a total of $82,196, with $61,107.52 paid out for campaign-related expenses last month.

The campaign for , the former East Haven mayor and Capone's Republican challenger, has raised a total of $44,406, with $20,650 raised during the Oct. 1-25 reporting period.

Maturo's campaign has spent a total of $40,532.96, with $23.760.92 paid out for campaign-related expenses last month.

And the campaign for East Haven mayoral race's third candidate, who is running as an independent write-in candidate, did not report any fundraising activity.

Sioson's financial report stated he had spent $1,153 of his own money on campaign related materials. The reporting period for Sioson's financial statements covered Oct. 19-31.
