DePalma Officially Throws His Hat Into East Haven Mayoral Race Ring

Gary DePalma, a veteran member of the East Haven Police Department and current Democratic town council member, has announced the formation of a exploratory committee for the upcoming mayor's race in East Haven next year.

The following is a press release form Gary DePalma's Mayoral Race Exploratory Committee.

Life-long East Haven resident Gary DePalma is officially announcing the formation of an exploratory committee to enter the 2013 East Haven Mayoral race.

“I have worked in public service for over 25 years; my family has been civically active in East Haven for close to 60 years. I would be honored to continue my service to this town in a new capacity.”

Gary DePalma is currently a Democratic Member of the East Haven Town Council and former Vice-Chairman of the Council.

Gary is a 26 year veteran of the East Haven Police Department (Sergeant) he lives in town with his Mist and 3 children. “In the coming months, I look forward to meeting with East Haven residents and sharing our vision for the future of this great town.”

[Editor's note: DePalma is now the second resident to officially announce his intentions to seek the East Haven Mayor's Office. Earlier this year, fellow Democrat Jack Stacey also announced he would be seeking East Haven's top elected spot, as well. At this time, Mayor Joseph Maturo Jr has yet to confirm if he will run for re-election in 2013.]
