DePalma Makes Run for East Haven Mayor Official

Gary DePalma, an East Haven native and longtime member of the East Haven Police Department, kicked off his campaign Sunday — joining fellow Democrat Jack Stacy in a run for the mayor's office.

The following is a press release submitted by the East Haven 2013 Mayoral Campaign of Gary DePalma.

In front of a large crowd on Main Street at the life long East Haven resident Gary DePalma announced that with his family and friends support, he will be running for the East Haven Mayoral seat.

In November, Mr. DePalma had announced the formation of an exploratory committee.

[Sunday night] DePalma told the crowd, “Based on the support you have given me and the reaction my team has received in town, I know this is the right time to run.” 

“There has been an outpouring of support from all corners of town and for that I am truly honored... you are the reason I am announcing my official candidacy for the role of Mayor of East Haven. “

DePalma, a 26 year veteran of the East Haven Police Department (Sergeant), was surrounded by his family and many supporters.

[Editor's Note: DePalma is the second candidate to officially announce they're running for the mayor's office, as fellow Democrat Jack Stacy officially threw his hat in the ring last September.]
