“I am proud to endorse Jack Stacey as East Haven’s next Mayor,” says Congresswoman DeLauro. “Jack has thoughtfully made three areas the cornerstones of his campaign: economic development, restructuring town management, and improving the quality of life for all residents. I support Jack because he has a vision that will transform East Haven into an economic hub that is well-prepared for the future.”

The Congresswoman has been a longtime champion for working families and has avidly fought for tax cut for middle class families.

As the ranking member dealing with appropriations for Labor, Health, Human Services, and Education, DeLauro is best known for her fighting for increased support for education and innovation, efforts to protect the rights of employees and unions, and raise living standards and the minimum wage nationwide.

Rosa has led the fight in Congress to achieve full pay equity for women and to ensure that all employees have access to paid sick days.

The endorsement was delivered on Wednesday evening by Congresswoman DeLauro's local liaison, Jimmy Tickey, who read the statement to a packed room of supporters at the Jack Stacey Headquarters in Trolley Square. The Congresswoman was in D.C. negotiating the reopening of the Federal Government. “Jack will be an effective advocate for East Haven and he is the right person to lead this community.  Join me in supporting Jack Stacey for Mayor on November 5th.”

Stacey is a high school history teacher at the High School in the Community and sits on the Civil Service Commission (which manages the testing and hiring of new town employees). He is a Vietnam veteran and community leader, and has lived in East Haven with his family since 1957.
