Albis Wins!

James Albis will take longtime former state Rep. Mike Lawlor's seat in the General Assembly.

East Haven's new state representative for the 99th District is Democrat James Albis. He bested Republican Linda Monaco in Tuesday's special election.

Unofficial count is 1,421-1,329.

"This is a great night for East Haven," Albis said at his headquarters minutes after learning the results. "It truly is."

"James is going to follow Mike Lawlor and fill his shoes," said Democratic Town Committee Chair Gene Ruocco.

Lawlor handed Albis his state license plate. The crowd roared.

"Come back in the morning for full story, photos and video." WHICH "morning" are you referring to Sharon, sometime next month? Very pathetic "reporting" do you actually get paid to do a bad job?
